Yamunotri is a revered pilgrimage site in Uttarkashi district, Uttarakhand, and is the source of the sacred Yamuna River. It is one of the four holy shrines of the Char Dham Yatra. Surrounded by stunning Himalayan peaks, the temple dedicated to Goddess Yamuna stands at an altitude of 3,293 meters.

The temple opens in April/May and closes around Diwali (October/November) due to heavy snowfall. Summer months (May-June and September-October) are ideal for a pleasant journey.
